Suncover glasses: Find the right model in PREGO's selection
Suncover glasses: Find the right model in PREGO's selection

Suncover is more than one specific sunglass shape
Although all Suncover models are made for use outside regular glasses, their proportions and design vary.
A narrow rectangular frame gives a completely different look than a spacious, round model. By comparing both appearance and interior space, you can more easily find a Suncover that fits your existing glasses.
Suncover glasses have developed into an attractive choice for eyeglass wearers who want to combine sun protection with a stylish design. In the past, fit-over sunglasses were often associated with large and anonymous frames, but today there are several different shapes, colors and sizes, which allow for a more personal choice.
At PREGO, the Suncover collection includes both classic, rounded, square and more elegant models. It allows you to find a pair of sunglasses that work with your regular glasses, without having to choose the same style as everyone else.
In this guide, we take a closer look at the differences between PREGO's Suncover models and what you should pay attention to when finding the right combination of shape, size and lens.
PREGO Torino – a compact and classic design
Torino Suncover is a good example that a fit-over sunglasses does not necessarily need to have a large frame.
The model has a rectangular shape and a simple expression that suits you well, who prefers classic lines.
Torino Classic Black fits over regular glasses frames with a maximum width and height of 132 × 44 mm.
This makes the model relevant for relatively compact glasses, but less suitable for very tall or wide glasses body
If your own glasses have a slim and rectangular shape, Torino can therefore be a good place to start.
PREGO Lucca – classic round shape
Lucca Suncover has a rounded shape with softer lines than Torino. It is available, among other things, in Classic Black and Classic Havana.
The black version has polarized green/grey lenses, while the Havana variant has polarized brown lenses.
Both models fit over glasses with dimensions up to 136 × 44 mm.
Lucca is therefore interesting if you prefer round sunglasses and have a regular frame that fits within these measure.
The choice of color can also have an effect on the expression. Black often seems more neutral and classic, while Havana gives a warmer look.
PREGO Como – softer lines with extra height
Como Suncover combines a round shape with a more subdued, modern design.
Como Matte Black has polarized gray glasses and is made with frames in recycled polycarbonate.
The model fits over glasses of up to 136 × 51 mm. It thus makes room for taller regular spectacle frames than, for example, the Lucca, even though the maximum width is the same.
It may be worth investigating Como more closely if your glasses have relatively tall lenses, but are not particularly wide.
PREGO Milano – for those who prefer square stel
Milano Suncover has a more distinctive design with a clear square shape.
The matte black variant has polarized gray lenses and can be used over glasses of up to 143 × 48 mm.
The extra width can be an advantage if your regular glasses have a wide front part.
Milano is also a good example of how fit-over sunglasses can appear as a conscious style choice. The square shape gives a more distinctive expression than the rounded alternatives.
PREGO Arezzo and Orvieto - spacious designs with different expressions
Arezzo is developed with a large, round shape. Arezzo Matte Black has room for glasses of up to 140 × 56 mm and polarized gray lenses.
It can be an interesting model if you have regular glasses with tall lenses and want a round sunglass.
Orvieto, on the other hand, has a butterfly-inspired shape, which gives a more elegant and lifted look.
Orvieto Classic Black fits over glasses of up to 142 × 54 mm and also have polarized gray lenses.
The two models show that spacious Suncover glasses can easily have different designs. That's why you don't have to choose the shape based on the size of your own glasses.
When you choose Suncover, it is the combination of size and shape that make the difference. The right design must provide space for your glasses and at the same time be a frame that you feel comfortable with.– Jesper Krog Jensen
Dark sunglasses or light contrast lenses?
Not all Suncover models necessarily have the same type of glass.
The regular polarized Suncover models typically have dark sun lenses, which are relevant in strong daylight.
PREGO also offers Contrast variants. For example, the Torino Contrast Suncover has yellow contrast lenses in filter category 1 and is not polarized.
This is an important difference, because light contrast lenses have a different purpose than dark sunglasses for strong sun.
If you will primarily use your Suncover glasses on sunny days, you should look for dark sunglasses with adequate UV protection. If you have special needs in changing light, you can compare the other glass types.
How to compare the Suncover models
It can be tempting to choose solely based on appearance, but the product dimensions should always be part of the decision.
A model may have a suitable width, but still be too low for your regular glasses. That's why it's important to examine both dimensions.
Also think about whether you want a discreet or striking design, and which glass properties suit the way you stay outdoors.
You will find the models, product dimensions and current variants in PREGO's Suncover collection.
