PREGO: quality conscious and Danish owned since 1966

Hi. We're Jesper and Danny. We'RE PREGO. Perhaps you have previously known us as Frands Jensen. Since the beginning of Prego's journey, innovation and sustainability have been on our agenda.

We work directly with the manufacturers, so you are guaranteed glasses that are made in proper conditions and in good quality.

In addition to providing you with quality glasses that last, we would like to help socially and contribute to people throughout the world's standard of living. And then we will do our part to make the world in which you and we live more sustainable.

When you buy glasses from us, you can be sure that each part is developed with care. Right from the glasses themselves to its wrapping. At the same time, we have complete control of what is going on in the wings. 100% transparency of the glasses way from the factory to you is the Alpha and omega for both us, our suppliers and you as a consumer. In our book, price, quality and sustainability are linked - it costs something to take responsibility for the world we live in.

Frands Jensen: where it all started

1966

1966 was where it all started. Jesper's grandfather Frands was in charge when PREGO (then called Frands Jensen) took his first steps in Odense. Although many years ago, the basic thoughts of the company and Frands’ vision with the company are still the same.

Frands has always been very concerned with the cooperation with the factories. The factories that produce PREGO are collaborators we have had since the beginning. The youngest relationship is over 15 years. But even though we have worked with the factories for a long time, we still carry out extensive audits both in the form of visiting the factories ourselves and through external agencies (including Bureau Veritas) according to recognized international standards, including BSCI and SMETA/SEDEX.

The audits focus on Labour Standards, Health and Safety and Environment and Business Ethics. It always has and always will be very important to us, because it is your guarantee for glasses that are made in proper conditions and from good materials.

For Frands, it was not a success criterion to press suppliers as much as possible on price and quality, but rather to make contractual terms that allowed proper working conditions and good product quality. What mattered to him, and which remains the basic idea of PREGO, is respect for manufacturers and their quality. Because as he once said to Jesper “ " do not try save 50 cents; it just ends up costing you a dollar."Although Frands is no longer in the company, his vision still continues, which is why we still never compromise on the good quality.

PREGO launches its first collection

1997

In 1997, PREGO launches its first collection - already at this time, the mission was to create designs that lasted a long time. The glasses in the first collection were considered modern and minimalist by the contemporaries.

2001

Jesper takes over the family business

PREGO has been a family business since the beginning. In 2001, it will be Jesper's turn to continue the business. For Jesper, for example, it is important to continue the good cooperation that his grandfather had with the suppliers - many of them also family businesses with people who have known Jesper since he was a teenager. When Jesper took over the company, it was of course in his own way. And since 2001, when Jesper took the lead, sustainability and innovation have been allowed to fill even more in the company, although it has always been part of Prego'S DNA.

PREGO really gets its foot in the field of some of the big players on the market

2003

In 2003, PREGOs supply chain is stronger than ever before. We become incredibly proud when some of the biggest retailers in the world look to PREGO to see "how it's done". And that really takes off in 2003. We are happy to provide our know-how and supply chain when, for example, well-known fashion brands need it. In this way, we can also continue to improve our skills and make our processes even sharper.
